Queen Charlotte Trek, Marlborough, New Zealand

A few photo highlights from the Queen Charlotte trek, story to come soon.

Traditional Maori wood carving greets hikers at beginning of Queen Charlotte Track, 44 miles of spectacular walking track passing through secluded bays, coastal bush, and to luxurious lodges in Marlborough, south Island, New Zealand

Furneaux Lodge, first stop on our Queen Charlette Trek, is nestled at the head of Endeavor Inlet and surrounded by 3 miles of virgin native forest unchanged since Captain Cooks's first visit in 1789, Marlborough, New Zeland

Views of Queen Charlotte Sound, Marlborough, New Zealand

Sunny day and spectacular views enjoyed last day of the Queen Charlotte Track. Notice those calf muscles of tour company co-owner Dave Watson, he walks this route regularly!

There’s few places I’d return to again, but I would definitely come back to enjoy the Queen Charlette trek for a three sports combo – hiking the steeps, kayaking the scenic sounds, and mountain biking the more open scenic end of the trail. All with the luxury of boat transfers for my gear, it doesn’t get easier than this to enjoy diverse activities in one four day trip.

Check out the link below for exceptional tours through the Marlborough Sounds Adventure Company featuring guided walks with flora and fauna interpretation, sea kayaking, and mountain biking. Wonderful to see a small family owned company excel and win national tourism awards for tourism and environmental excellence.
